The Sacrifice of Genghis Khan Mausoleum

 The Sacrifice of Genghis Khan is a general name for the sacrifice of Eight White Palaces, the black Sulde (the God of war) and the holy relics of the Khan. Genghis Khan is the highst God worshipped by Mongolians.

 Genghis Khan`s sacrifice is unique in the forms,grand in the scale,which also express the antiquated and mysterious Mongolian ancient culture.This special culture shows Mongolian traditions, courtesies, beliefs, language, words, art and so on.

The Darhut guard reserved completely the Mongolian Palace sacrifice in 13th century, which stands for the Mongolian original culture,and is also valuable culture heritage of Chinese even the human race.

The Genghis Khan`s sacrifice ,which shows the highest grade sacrifices of Mongolians composed of two parts: sacrifice of the Eight White Palaces and the Sulde (the God of war).

The Eight White Palaces were worshiped in the Main Palace together by a whole sacrificing ceremony since 1956.

The Genghis Khan`sacrifice,based on the Shamanism,the Mongolian original religion , on the content to expresses the worshipping to the sky, the ancestors and heroes, in the form ,using fire, milk, wine, livestock and folk songs. On the tool of the sacrifice,the valuable and special scarifyicing containers are produced, showing the Mongolian people`s fondness of nature and animals. Delicately created poems and songs for sacrifice were sung by successive generation in oral form.

The sacrifice of Genghis Khan was listed in the first batches of immaterial culture heritage category in 2005 by the state Department.
